WA Health reports a total of 5,051 new cases as of 6pm last night. There are currently 35,284 active cases in Western Australia.
As of 6pm last night, there were 430 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 21 in ICU.
Unfortunately, today’s report includes two deaths, dating back to July 16, that were reported to WA Health yesterday: two men in their 80s.

Of the 5,051 cases, 1,706 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 3,345 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.
A total of 6,135 PCR tests were carried out yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.
WA has recorded 1,030,453 cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In accordance with national guidelines, WA Health has adjusted the total number of cases reported in this State to prevent positive secondary results within 12 weeks of exit from isolation following initial COVID infection.
