COVID-19 update on July 6, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 6,296 new cases at 6 p.m. last night. There are currently 30,422 active cases in Western Australia.

At 6pm yesterday, there were 226 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 8 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes one death, which was reported yesterday to WA Health: a woman in her 80s.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (98) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 6,296 cases, 2,299 were confirmed by the PCR test, the remaining 3,997 were rapid self-reported positive antigen tests.

A total of 7,696 PCR tests were performed yesterday at public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 933,854 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
