COVID-19 update on June 10, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 7,174 new cases as of 8pm last night. There are currently 39,199 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 279 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 16 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes six new deaths dating back to May 19 that were reported yesterday at WA Health by two men and two women in their 80s, a woman in their 70s and a man in their 60.

WA Health has reclassified two previous deaths as non-COVID-related deaths.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (115) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 7,174 cases, 2,714 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 4,460 were rapid self-reported positive antigen tests.

A total of 9,653 PCR tests were performed yesterday at public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 804,149 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
