COVID-19 update on June 19, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 3,896 new cases as of 8pm last night. There are currently 31,679 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 6 p.m. last night, there were 280 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 14 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes 14 deaths, dating back to June 3, which were reported yesterday to WA Health.

This includes three men in their 90s, three men and two women in their 80s, three men and a woman in their 70s, a woman in their 60s and a woman in their 50s.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (86) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 3,896 cases, 1,402 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 2,584 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 4,791 PCR tests were performed yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 851,776 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
