COVID-19 update on June 26, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 3,544 new cases as of 6 p.m. last night. There are currently 27,963 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 6 p.m. yesterday, there were 250 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 9 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes two new deaths, dating back to June 20, which were reported yesterday to WA Health.

This includes an 80-year-old man and woman.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (71) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 3,544 cases, 1,302 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 2,242 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 4,122 PCR tests were performed yesterday at public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 884,323 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
