COVID-19 update on June 6, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 4,849 new cases as of 8pm last night. There are currently 41,244 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 279 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 16 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes a new death dating back to May 30 that was reported yesterday to WA Health; a man in his 80s.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (53) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 4,849 cases, 1,399 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 3,450 were rapid self-reported positive antigen tests.

A total of 5,806 PCR tests were performed yesterday at public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 775,741 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Anyone with symptoms should be tested immediately and isolated until they receive a negative result. Visit the HealthyWA website for a complete list of test clinics and opening hours (external site).
