Today we received a lot of information about Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, including important news that includes text about Sephiroth’s free hair care routine that will be moved from the original game.
Reunion is, as its name suggests, the next remastered reissue of Crisis Core, an action role-playing game for the 2007 PlayStation Portable that acted as a prequel to Final Fantasy VII. When it hits all gaming platforms under the sun later this year, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will feature more voice acting, improved imagery, and new gameplay elements, but Square Enix plans to keep pretty much everything else. the same.
Speaking to Eurogamer, producer Mariko Sato explained that the original Crisis Core story remains intact in Reunion, much unlike what is being done with the ongoing Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. Reunion aims to reintroduce players to the protagonist of Crisis Core and the background character of Final Fantasy VII, Zack Fair, whose role is expanding into the story of Remake.
“If you play [Final Fantasy VII Remake], or the original, you’ll probably know that Zack is in the first Remake game where he doesn’t appear at that point in history in the original Final Fantasy 7, “said Reunion executive producer Yoshinori Kitase.” So he’s appeared more than him. We thought the people who started the story there would really want to know more about this character. “
But let’s be honest: while it was nice to see Zack’s story come to fruition, the highlight of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII came when we learned how the evil Sephiroth keeps his long hair so luxurious. Throughout the original game, Zack is able to join a Sephiroth fan club known as Silver Elite who sends him emails with curiosities about his silver-haired hero, including his hair care routine.
The introductory message after Zack enlisted in the Silver Elite reads:
Dear members of the Silver Elite:
In this update, we present another piece of Sephiroth’s curiosity: the secrets of her beautiful long hair.
The hair products you use are of the highest quality, manufactured and supplied by Shinra company.
She seems to use a whole bottle of shampoo and conditioner every time she washes her hair.
They are scented with thirteen types of perfumes, including rose and vanilla.
Apparently, the smell in the air after Sephiroth throws her hair changes every day!
I don’t need to tell the most hygienic players that there is a lot of shampoo and conditioner. How does Sephiroth find the time to use so much product among all his war crimes? Congratulations on your dedication to maintaining that beautiful hair, but damn, does Sephiroth always have to be so extra?
“I think [Crisis Core’s story] it withstood the passage of time, “said creative director Tetsuya Nomura, a man with his own talent for drama.” It’s something that people really appreciate. And when I look back at the story and how it’s structured, there are a lot of flaws that I can really find in it. I think it’s still a very complete story and almost perfectly combined in many ways. “
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will hit PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch and PC in late 2022.
