CRISTIANO RONALDO slipped away from Carrington on Tuesday afternoon after a day of tough backdoor talks.
The 37-year-old fugitive chose to take the road less traveled.

After arriving at Manchester United’s headquarters this morning, Ronaldo spent the day at Carrington before returning home shortly before 5pm.
He lowered the vanity mirror of his £168,000 Bentley to cover his face as he left the venue.
Ronaldo arrived at the discussions earlier accompanied by his super agent Jorge Mendes.
He went through the doors at around 10.45am, and on that occasion he used the main entrance to the premises.
Mendes did not appear to be in the same car as Ronaldo when the five-time Ballon d’Or winner left Carrington’s back door on the afternoon.
Ronaldo initially informed United of his desire to leave shortly before he returned to pre-season training.
The superstar striker was then absent from Erik ten Hag’s tour of Thailand and Australia due to family reasons.
But he attended the post-tour briefing today, according to the Daily Mail.

Ronaldo also stopped to chat briefly with Sir Alex Ferguson and Bryan Robson.
The club’s legends had already been scheduled to be in Carrington for a meeting with chief executive Richard Arnold and former chief executive David Gill.
Some fans are convinced they were part of the plea for Ronaldo to stay.
He has been out of the UK and landed back in Manchester on Monday evening on his private jet for talks over his future with United.
The outcome of Ronaldo’s return to Carrington is still unclear.
But he is desperate to continue playing in the Champions League, something the Red Devils cannot offer after a sixth-place finish last season.
Atlético Madrid are currently believed to be leading the race to sign Ronaldo, despite his connections with rivals Real.
Ronaldo himself is said to be open to joining Diego Simeone’s side.
Reports suggest the LaLiga side have transferred Antoine Griezmann to the roster in order to free up funds to seal a move for CR7.
