Fans mocked David Beckham after sharing a tribute to the Queen on the Jubilee weekend while joking that he was “still trying to be a gentleman.”
The 46-year-old former footballer, who ran for president in 2014 until a “red flag” warning from HM Revenue and Customs sank his nomination, has finally been given the green light after his finances they clarified.
And after the news, David’s fans joked that he kept the Queen’s thanks by sharing a tribute to his 70-year reign in an Instagram post on Thursday.

He also posted pictures of the queen at various times in his life and wrote: “Today we celebrate our queen’s platinum jubilee. 70 years of service and inspiring leadership in our country.
“We are meeting and commemorating his remarkable reign with a great British celebration in the coming days.”

Many took David’s post as an opportunity to do a subtle investigation into the Inter Miami owner, with one person joking, “Still after those Knighthood Becks?”
While another jokingly joked, “She won’t be a gentleman, couple …”
A third added: “You will not get the title of knight, just let it go.”
Other publications followed a similar pattern, as the star jokingly said that he would finally be given the much-coveted knight.
The Sun claimed last year that David had been formally appointed and moved to the list of official recommendations in June.

The former footballer was one of dozens of wealthy celebrities who invested in the controversial Ingenious Media scheme to fund films and reduce investor tax liability. HMRC labeled the scheme as a tax evasion vehicle.
But a source has now told the publication: “David, like many of the celebrities involved with Ingenious, was unaware of what was going on at the time.
“His team first proactively approached HMRC almost two years ago, when David made his business independent, and finally settled it, once and for all, this year.”
