Delivery drivers in a violent street fight as they grab McDonald’s takeaway orders

Police had to get involved after rival food delivery drivers clashed with each other as they fought for McDonald’s orders.

A savage fight between food delivery drivers outside a London McDonald’s has led police to park in the fast food store to try to stop more violence.

Delivery drivers have clashed as they use apps to grab McDonald’s takeaway orders, it reported The sun.

Tensions erupted over the scam and police are investigating a massive fight late last month outside a branch.

Apps allow drivers to change their GPS settings to a fake location by pretending to be in a fast food restaurant branch, when they are miles away.

It leaves them in a prime position for new orders, as Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat (known as Menulog in Australia) make deliveries to the nearest ones, but cause delays to customers.

Messengers say violence and intimidation have erupted, as well as motorbikes set on fire.

Police were called into a fight between numerous drivers in front of a branch in Tooting, south London, amid a total war in the capital between striking workers.

Dealer Carlos Domingues, 44, said: “Some McDonald’s are no-go areas now.

“Aggressive drivers intimidate anyone who comes to their patch. Many fake their GPS and take several orders with different accounts.”

McDonald’s is cracking down on “clearly unacceptable behavior.”

Delivery companies pledged to “zero tolerance for violence”.

London Metropolitan Police said “due to recent events” their agents had been “working side by side” with McDonalds and delivery companies to “address antisocial behavior”.
