Police have named the two people who died after a motor boat capsized on Lake Devon.
Six people were on the boat when it turned into Lake Roadford, near Okehampton, last Wednesday, and four of them were rescued from the water.
However, two disabled people were missing and their bodies were found the next day by police after an extensive search.
Officers have now formally identified the victims as Alex Wood, 43, and Alison Tilsley, 63, known as Ali.
Both were from the West Devon area and their relatives have been informed.
In a statement, Mrs. Tilsley’s family paid tribute to her “kind, affectionate and loving daughter, sister and aunt.”
“We are totally devastated by the loss of our beautiful Ali,” they said.
“His sunny nature, his positivity, his fantastic sense of humor and his ability with words will be sorely missed.
“Our hearts are broken forever, but the messages of love and support we have received are very comforting.”
What happened to the other victims?
Of the other four victims, two were taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment after being rescued.
Since then, one has been discharged, but a woman in her 50s is still in critical condition.
Two people were checked by paramedics at the scene and did not need any additional treatment.
Since then, Devon and Cornwall police and the Maritime Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
