Nearly four years after announcing the game for the first time, Blizzard released Diablo Immortal on Android, iOS and PC earlier this week. And shortly after the game hit mobile the day before, gamers with Samsung phones went to Reddit and other community forums to complain about technical issues. On some devices with the company’s own Exynos chipsets, Diablo Immortal can’t be played, and one of the biggest problems is that the textures don’t load properly.
“We’re exploring the issues that people are experiencing with some Samsung Galaxy-specific devices that use Exynos chipsets,” a Blizzard spokesman said in a Reddit comment detected by SamMobile. “For now, we can turn off downloads for this set of devices as we work to fix it. Sorry about that, and we’ll work to fix and prepare it as soon as possible.”
The list of affected phones includes older devices such as the Galaxy S10, Note 10 and A51 5G, but people with models as recent as the Galaxy S22 have also complained about texture issues. If you have a Qualcomm-enabled version of one of these phones, you can download and play it seamlessly. You can check which chipset your phone has by going to the “About phone” section of your Android system settings.
