If you’ve seen any of the Snowflake Mountain on Netflix, you’ll know that the new show is … intense. But one thing viewers really want to know is if the contestants ’suitcases burned * actually * during the first episode.
Forget about Stranger Things or Umbrella Academy, because our heart of reality TV lovers is all over Snowflake Mountain. The show, which follows “ten spoiled young adults” who have “experience[ing] nature without a parental safety net ”sees a collection of titled and twenty-three teenagers from around the world, trying to be one with nature.
Contestants throw themselves into the desert and have to learn to “run for themselves” (or at least adapt to life without the comforts of home and loving parents with all their movements).

Sounds good, right? But there’s a moment in the first episode that viewers can’t get over. The episode saw camp leaders Joel Graves and Matt Tate apparently set fire to the contestants ’belongings, in an attempt to prove to them that they were not hanging on to material goods.
“Just tell me Snowflake Mountain is an adaptation of the island of total drama … how they can be burning people’s suitcases and laughing at them on #SnowflakeMountain,” one person wrote.

Another put it: “Wait if the suitcases from where these #SnowflakeMountain guys are taking their clothes are burned.”
And a third added, “So I’m watching the first episode of #SnowflakeMountain and the scene where they blew up and set fire to people’s suitcases is unnecessary. And I hope they emptied them all first.”
