Two men were killed after a shooting in Brampton in the early hours of Sunday in the parking lot of a banquet hall.

The dead men were denied entry to a Father’s Day banquet inside the Chandni Convention Center in the area of Gateway Blvd.- Queen St., said Richard Marshall, manager of the banquet hall.
“We have great security,” Marshall told CP24.

Marshall said the site housed about 150 people, whom he described as “big businessmen” in “suits and ties.”
He added that there are dozens of surveillance cameras around the convention center and the images have been handed over to police.

No suspicious information has been released.
“Our homicide investigators now have the investigation,” Peel regional police spokesman Charles Payette said.
“We have limited information about the suspect at this time. We are appealing to anyone with video footage, dashboard images of the incident, to contact our investigators.”
Payette said one man died at the scene of the 2 a.m. shooting, while the second died after being rushed to a hospital.
“Our agents are consulting and asking witnesses to come forward. We will review the video footage and explore and investigate all clues.
