Drew Barrymore writes a heartfelt note to Britney Spears about her “fairytale wedding”

Drew Barrymore was one of the few lucky guests at the glamorous wedding of Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, which took place on June 9 in Los Angeles.

On Friday, the 47-year-old host of the talk show turned to her Instagram account and shared an inside scoop on the intimate relationship.

Posting a series of snapshots and videos of her from Spears’ big day celebrations, the 50 first dates the actress wrote a heartfelt message and compared the event to her 1998 film Ever After: A Cinderella Story.

“What I learned from ‘Ever After’ is that we have to rescue ourselves and still want the fairy tale. And that’s exactly what Britney did!” Barrymore wrote.

“I couldn’t be happier for your intrepid journey !!!!!!!” she added. In the shared photos, Barrymore was photographed hugging Spears and Selena Gomez.

Madonna, Gomez, Donatella Versace, Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton and many more joined Barrymore at the wedding.

Meanwhile, the bride, in her own posts, called Barrymore her “girl in love” and told Gomez she was “much prettier in person if that’s possible.” The pop icon had the honor of both of them attending their big day, saying, “I was speechless.”
