DSOGaming Many N64 games will be compatible with road tracking thanks to this upcoming N64 emulator connector

DarioSamo, the man behind Ray Tracing Mod for the unofficial PC port of Super Mario 64, has announced a new Ray Tracing plug-in for Nintendo 64 emulators. games, it will support DLSS and allow you to play the original N64 games at 60 fps.

DarioSamo has shared a video showing some games with this Path Tracing N64 plugin. To capture this footage, the modder used the mupen64plus emulator.

I would like to reveal that RT64, the tracker behind sm64rt, is evolving into a complement to the N64 emulator.

Here is a small roll of images I captured of games that are already showing results.

DarioSamo plans to include a whitelist of compatible games in the plugin so users don’t get confused and try to run it with all the titles out there. However, there will be an optional switch for people who want to experience more.

Also, a lot of games that never had patches of 60 FPS will be able to run at 60 FPS or more, even though they still run internally at their original rates. This will be another great feature of this add-on.

Finally, this plugin will have a normal raster mode that will look the same as the original game. This will theoretically open the door to improvements such as decoupled rendering with 60 FPS or more. And yes, DarioSamo also plans to support HD texture replacements in the same way that existing plugins work.

This add-on is currently in the early stages of development. As such, you shouldn’t expect this soon. However, we are sure to keep you informed!
