A Sault driver, and the trucking company he works for, have been charged in connection with a collision that occurred last Friday in Garden River.
As a result of the investigation, Charles McMillan, 60, is charged with: • Careless driving, contrary to section 130(1) of the Road Traffic Act (HTA) • Driving a commercial motor vehicle – without a license , contrary to section 32 (1) of the HTA • Notice of suspension of driving license for driving a commercial motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration greater than zero
The company the defendant works for has been accused of: • Allowing an unlicensed person to drive commercial vehicles, contrary to section 32(10) of the HTA.
Officers responded to the scene of a crash between a van and a dump truck near Noonday Road around 7:30 a.m. on July 22. One driver was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
