Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has requested a change, ESPN’s All-Star business director Adrian Wojnarowski said 12 times.
Nets CEO Sean Marks is working with Durant and manager Rich Kleiman to find a suitor for the franchise star, Wojnarowski reports.
Durant listed the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat as possible commercial destinations, though the Nets will prioritize moving the 33-year-old to a team that can offer the best assets in return, according to Wojnarowski.
More than half of NBA teams have called on the Nets to acquire Durant, Wojnarowski reports.
Durant had no contact with the Nets after Kyrie Irving opted to use his player option on Monday, indicating he would finally ask for a change, sources told Wojnarowski.
The Nets are not expected to move Ben Simmons, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. Brooklyn acquired the 25-year-old player, as well as Seth Curry and Andre Drummond, of the Philadelphia 76ers for James Harden.
The Nets have been active Thursday and reportedly acquired Utah Jazz striker Royce O’Neale for a 2023 first-round pick.
The striker has four years left for his $ 194 million deal, according to Spotrac.
Durant averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 6.4 assists and a block in 55 games with the Nets last season. The Nets were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics.
