Chicago Blackhawks center-back Dylan Strome will not receive a qualifying offer, a source confirmed to The Athletic. The former No. 3 of the 2015 NHL Draft will be an unrestricted free agent.
Strome, 25, averaged nearly one point per game during the second half of the season as No. 1 center-back between Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane. His rating bid would have been $ 3.6 million. In the 2021-22 season, Strome recorded 22 goals and 26 assists in 69 games played.
Strome’s departure isn’t the only one for the Blackhawks this offseason. The Blackhawks changed DeBrincat to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for elections number 7 and 39.
Teams can sign Strome when free agency begins on July 13th. The Blackhawks (28-42-12) finished seventh in the Central Division last season, losing the playoffs.
