The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase for 2022 is now over, with plenty of trailers and announcements for upcoming Xbox and PC games. The rule of this showcase, as described at the beginning, is that all the games shown will be released in the next 12 months. It remains to be seen what the future holds, but Xbox certainly looks optimistic at least. With Starfield, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Diablo IV and more on display at the event, there’s plenty to cover. So let’s get started, shall we? Here’s a reminder of every announcement and trailer for the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022.
All new Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase announcements and trailers
Xbox and Bethesda showed more than 30 games in this year’s Not-E3 showcase, so there’s plenty to cover. If you’re looking for something specific, you can use the list below to jump to the game you’re most excited about. As always, the YouTube comment thread was full of people shouting “It’s MORBIN TIME”. Well, Xbox listened. The show jumped right into a game of Redfall, Arkane Austin’s upcoming vampire co-op FPS. The footage begins with the player shuffling through a very ominous church covered in blood. Lots of blood. And there’s a vampire in the attic, of course. There are many shots fired (it turns out that vampires are quite resistant to shotgun shells), soon after we have a better look at the different powers you have at your disposal to hunt the inhabitants of the night. Many more vampires, much more chaos and much more time to wait, as there was no release date attached. Redfall was originally scheduled for this summer. , but was recently delayed alongside Starfield.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen some footage of the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong, but it’s great to see Hornet appear on the show so soon. We had a good view of several colorful and dangerous areas, quickly jumping from thick forests to dungeons and fiery cities. We also observed a number of heads, including a large, horribly-looking mosquito and a creature carrying a bone ax, and many impressive movements of the ever-agile Hornet. There is no news yet on a firm release date, but it looks like everything shown at this event will be playable in the next 12 months. And now we know that it will also be available in Game Pass at launch.
The first surprise announcement of the night was really amazing – I don’t think anyone had “Rick & Morty-inspired FPS” on their Keigh3 bingo card, let alone as a Microsoft exclusive. Justin Roiland (creator / star of the aforementioned animated adult). sitcom) will star in your alien comrade-in-arms, which you will use to shoot other strange aliens in a smiling drug journey through a world. The final shock came in the form of the release date: it has to come out. a few months from now, in October 2022.
Riot Games joins Game Pass with a number of games from its later catalog
Riot Games has teamed up to showcase that a number of Riot titles will arrive in Game Pass for PC and mobile. Subscribers will have access to all League of Legends and LoL: Wild Rift legends, all Valorant agents and an initial set of cards in Legends of Runeterra. Although these games are already free without Game Pass, you will get all of the above content for free with a subscription when they arrive this winter.
In Plague Tale: Requiem appeared below, with a beautiful and macabre vision of Amicia walking furtively through a village that has clearly seen better days. It seems that the same kind of tense, puzzle-like survival situations remain the norm in this dramatic and cinematic series. Magnificent lighting is also shown here.
Even those of us who don’t know how to drive in real life love a little Forza. Whether you’re a gear boss or not, you can’t deny that these are some of the most magnificent photorealistic video games you’ll ever see. Today’s new trailer was followed by an extended look at the fall scene from the latest Maple Valley game, with good lighting changes depending on the time of day. It seems that things like weather and temperature will alter many interesting variables under the hood that also affect your driving experience. The future is now, people.
Microsoft Flight Simulator to add helicopters, gliders and Halo’s Pelican
If you’re looking for a beautiful landscape, but you’re tired of flying planes, the next update / expansion of Microsoft Flight Simulator will add helicopters and gliders in November. If that’s not high-tech enough for you, gamers can go up right now and download a new update that adds Halo’s Pelican. If you’ve ever wanted to fly a Pelican without a rocket launcher making you fly from the sky, this is for you.
Overwatch 2 comes out with another trailer that to my discerning eyes looks exactly the same as Overwatch 1. Doom still Fists, Rein still Hardts and Zenyatta still looks incredibly great. We have a lot of heroic postures, a lot of enemies destroyed through a bunch of new and colorful maps, and one of the Overwatch movies that seems to reveal a free arena mode for everyone. Early access to Overwatch 2 begins on October 4th.
Now: History Untold brings great historical strategy to Game Pass
We knew we were expecting news of some great historical strategies at the PC Gaming Show later tonight, but NOW History Untold still managed to be a surprise announcement for the Xbox showcase. This opening trailer doesn’t tell us much about what will make the game stand out, for example, from the extensive franchise of various parts of Paradox, except that it looks like several historical eras will be represented in a single game. Oh, and it will be available on Game Pass on the first day.
The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle expansion will be released next week
A new trailer for the upcoming expansion of Elder Scrolls Online, High Isle, gives us a deeper insight into the headline location. High Isle is a completely new location that the Elder Scrolls franchise has not visited before, giving ESO players a first look at this new region. Those on the console will have to wait until June 21, but PC gamers can jump to High Isle right now.
Fallout 76: The Pitt will allow players out of the Appalachians this September
Celebrating 25 years of Fallout, we also took a look at Fallout 76: The Pitt, in which players will leave Appalachia for the first time and return to Pitt, the remains of a heavily destroyed Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which has been completely overtaken by assailants. In September, players will embark on expeditions to this relentless city, both above and below, gaining all sorts of loot and XP along the way.
More Forza below, with the announcement of a whimsical add-on for Forza Horizon 5 that includes a brand link with Hot Wheels. I remember meeting the LEGO Speed Champions DLC for Forza Horizon 4 with polarizing receptions when it was announced, before everyone was forced to admit that it was actually a lot of fun. Starting with this short trailer, I think we’re used to in addition to those adult toy box tricks in the Hot Wheels add-on for Horizon 5 when it comes out on July 19th.
Then a very short trailer for Ark 2, the next sequel that will inexplicably feature Vin Diesel riding a dinosaur. There’s nothing new, but perhaps most interesting is that Xbox expects it to be released next year, as that’s the topic of this presentation. They’re dinosaurs, it’s Vin Diesel, and it’s expected to arrive sometime in the next twelve months.
Scorn, Ebb Software’s meaty horror adventure game, has announced an October 21 release date. The trailer begins with a properly horrific cinematic of someone disconnecting a large umbilical cord appendix from his body, and quickly grows into a lot of blood and explosions and dirt. Sounds like a fun time for the whole family.
Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn has friendly creature friends to join your adventure in their open world
A new trailer for the upcoming Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn shows what I hope will be one of the main features of this open world action role-playing game: walking with your friendly animal companion by your side. I mean, really, super handsome. There is no firm release date yet, but this trailer ends with an “early 2023” release, according to tonight’s theme of the games you’ll be able to play throughout the year.
Continuing with its commitment to expanding the franchise with new ideas, Minecraft Legends is an upcoming action strategy game. The trailer seems to suggest that the story will focus on a war between Overworld and the creatures of the Nether, while offering brief snippets of gameplay. Minecraft Legends arrives in the first half of 2023.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a game of mechs as healthy as this one. Lightyear: Frontier will land in the spring of next year, and it looks like a game of cultivation and construction, but with mechs. You land (more serenely and more successfully than in most other games, I might add) on a rather alien planet and you have to get to work exploring, crafting and cultivating from the limits of your little mech suit.
The arrival of Gunfire Reborn on Xbox is a good reminder that Gunfire Reborn exists
Gunfire Reborn is an extravagant Red Borderlands-style looting game where you and your friends take on the roles of adorable kitten fighters. If I think I’m talking about knowledge on the subject, it’s because the game has been available on Steam since last year, but this trailer lets us know that it will arrive on other platforms and Game Pass …
