Emergency services are searching for a missing woman and her dog in Dandenong North, south-east Melbourne.

Cara Morrissey, 30, left her home on Somerset Drive for a walk Tuesday around 7:30 a.m. with her white Maltese poodle, Holly.

Victoria Police and the State Emergency Service are searching for Tirhatuan Park, next to Dandenong Creek, where he walks frequently.

Sergeant Major Chris Savage said police were concerned about the weather.

“It was very cold last night and we plan to have another one,” he said.

She said Ms. Morrissey had no personal items with her other than her dog, and family members marked her disappearance as out of character.

“She’s a regular walker, but she usually came back after an hour and a half or so,” Sergeant Savage said.

Although reports of Mrs. Morrissey had been reported, Sergeant Savage said police were investigating whether they were genuine.

Mrs. Morrissey is about 170 inches tall, of medium build, and has brown hair and green eyes.

Mrs. Morrissey is thought to have worn a beige cardigan and blue multicolored tights, and Holly wore a pink collar and a red lead.

Police urge anyone who has seen Ms. Morrissey or Holly to contact the Dandenong Police Station at 9767 7444.
