The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase are finally here and we get a lot of game announcements. From Redfall to Hollow Knight Silksong, there is something for everyone. Come with us while we cover all the live ads in the program.
Highlights from the Freedom Games Showcase
Redfall
Redfall is finally making its second appearance on Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. This time we have a game trailer with Layla and her telekinetic skills and spectral lifts. We also got a full view of the island where the game will take place.
The trailer also described all the skills of the Red Fall characters. Jacob has a Red Eye-like ability from Red Dead Redemption 2, plus a layer of invisibility and a ghostly crow that can fly at enemies. Remi de la Rosa is an engineer with a fellow robot equipped with a machine gun that kills vampires. Devinder then offers extensive knowledge of vampires and carries macgyvered equipment to trap enemies.
Hollow Knight Silksong
Hollow Knight Silksong was announced as the launch of the first day Xbox Game Pass on Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The trailer showed more of the game’s frantic combat and Metrovania-style exploration.
High in Life
High on Life is the next FPS game from the creators of Rick and Morty. From the trailer it looks like we can expect a lot of weird jokes and guns, grenades and other tools that also speak to you again.
Riot games
Microsoft has announced that major Riot Games titles will be coming to Xbox Game Pass soon. We have put together a trailer of games that will arrive on the service that will include League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Valorant, Legends of Runterra and Teamfight Tactics.
The story of a plague: Requiem
Today we also have a new longer game trailer for A Plague’s Tale: Requiem. From the trailer it is clear that the story will take a darker turn, as our protagonist, Rune’s Friend, becomes more cruel and aggressive in killing her enemies.
Forza Motorsport
The upcoming Forza Motorsport finally had a game trailer showing the new level of realistic graphics that the game will debut. It is confirmed that the game includes more realistic ray tracing and damage to cars as they rub against each other and with the track. The trailer also revealed a number of new cars, including a golf cart ready for the race.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Microsoft Flight Simulator celebrates its 40th anniversary with the addition of a host of new aircraft, including gliders and helicopters.
In addition, Xbox announced that Halo-themed vehicles will arrive in the game today and players will be able to fly the Pelican.
Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 was announced as an October 2022 release on Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The new game trailer also gave us a look at all the new aspects of the characters. In addition, we met Overwatch’s newest character, Queen Junker, who is a gladiatorial warrior from the Badlands who uses a lever action shotgun and a large ax. Early access to Overwatch 2 begins on October 4, 2022.
Now Untold History
Announced just a few days earlier, Ara History Untold is a turn-based historical strategy game. It will be available on the first day on Windows PC with PC Game Pass, although a release date has not yet been announced.
The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle
Elder Scrolls Online’s High Isle expansion will be released on June 21st.
Fallout 76: The Pitt
The Pitt, a classic Fallout 3 location, will hit Fallout 76 this September.
DLC for Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels
Forza Horizon 5 will receive a Hot Wheels DLC. Similar to the Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels and Unleashed Hot Wheels expansion, this expansion will feature tracks with winding paths, vertical turns and loops, as well as plenty of Hot Wheels toy cars. The Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC is released this July.
Ark 2
Ark 2 had another revelation trailer and will be released next year in 2023. It was also confirmed that it will be released on the first day in Game Pass.
Contempt
We took a first look at Scorn’s extremely graphic and wet game. It was also announced that Scorn would be released on October 21, 2022 and will be available on Game Pass on the first day.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a third-person action role-playing game in which you wield both pistols and melee weapons. It will be released in early 2023 and is available Day One on Xbox Game Pass.
Minecraft Legends
Minecraft Legends is a new action strategy game coming to Xbox and PC next year in 2023. Mojang’s latest project will be released on the first day of Game Pass.
Light year border
Lightyear Frontier is a new mechanical exploration game that reminds us a bit of Journey to a Savage Planet. It will be released in the spring of 2023 as the first day of Game Pass.
Rebirth of fires
Gunfire Reborn, a roguelike shoot-em-up that will be released in October 2022
The latest case of Benedict Fox
The Last Case of Benedict Fox opens in the spring of 2023 and is confirmed to be the first day on Xbox Game Pass.
As dusk falls
As Dusk Falls is the first INTERIOR / NIGHT game. It features rotoscopic graphics and will be an interactive drama playable with up to eight. It premieres on July 19 and is released on Xbox Game Pass Day One.
Hell Bladepoint
Naraka Bladepoint hits consoles for the first time with confirmed cross-play and a new campaign mode. Naraka Bladepoint will be released on Xbox on June 23, 2022.
Repentance
Obsidian revealed his next game Repentance as a narrative crime story set in sixteenth-century Bavaria. Repentance follows Andreas Maler, a traveling artist who stops at an abbey to make an illuminated manuscript, but the story takes a turn when Andrea’s mentor is accused of murder. Now it’s your turn to solve the case, and apparently it could take up to 25 years and Andreas will continue to be caught in incidents.
Connected to ground
Grounded finally abandons early access in September after being originally released in July 2020.
Ereban Shadow Legacy
Ereban Shadow Legacy will be released in 2023 and is confirmed on the first day on Xbox Game Pass.
Devil IV
Diablo IV showed the necromancer class when his last new class for the game was confirmed. We saw a new game played on an Xbox in the character class raising dead allies and throwing skulls. Diablo IV will be released next year with cross-play and cross-progression on PC, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and Switch.
Sea of thieves
Sea of Thieves has announced that its Season 7 update will arrive. The update will allow users to purchase, name and captain a ship all their own. You can also further customize your cabin to your liking.
Ravenlock
Ravenlok is a 2023 release that will hit Game Pass on the first day.
Capoll
The studio behind Limbo has a new game called Cocoon and is slated for release in 2023.
Wolong Fallen Dynasty
Wolong Fallen Dynasty is a new Team Ninja game set in Japan and full of mythical creatures. It premieres in early 2023 and is confirmed to be the first day on the Xbox Game Pass.
Person
A lot of Persona games will arrive on Xbox, including Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal. It is confirmed that they will come to Game Pass, but only Persona 5 has a release date, currently scheduled for October 21.
Hideo Kojima
Microsoft has announced that it is working with Hideo Kojima on a new game. Without revealing much, Kojima simply stated that “This is a game I’ve always wanted to play.”
Starfield
Starfield finally got the revelation trailer for the game we were waiting for. The game seems to feature a much more grounded space exploration experience than exploring planets, shooting enemies, scanning, and selecting digital locks. We also have a Starfield story trailer that revealed that we will be looking for alien artifacts that change galaxies and we will have to deal with space factions.
