Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are open to continuing the story of their characters for a second season of the Disney + Star Wars series.
Speaking to British GQ, McGregor reflected on returning to his Star Wars role for the first time in 17 years on the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi alongside Christensen. He also indicated that he would put on Jedi tunics again if the opportunity arose. “I really hope we make another one,” he said. “If I could do one of these from time to time, I’d be happy to do it.”
McGregor also mentioned what it was like to be reunited with his co-star in the Star Wars prequel trilogy after all this time, and how he felt in his first scene with Christensen dressed as Lord Sith Darth Vader. “I was scared that I was six years old again,” he admitted. “I’ve never experienced it before. I almost dropped my pants.”
It looks like Christensen isn’t quite ready to hang up his helmet either. Speaking to RadioTimes, the actor expressed his desire to reprise his role in Star Wars for a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi or another project involving his character, and noted that Lucasfilm presented Obi -Wan like a limited six-part series, but there may be. more stories to tell yet.
“Well, it was definitely conceived as a standalone story. But I would love to continue with this character. You know, I think there are definitely more things to explore and I would be very excited to do that,” he told the channel. , and added that if there was a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, “it would surely be open to” return for more episodes.
