A jury sentenced Eric Holder on Wednesday for first-degree murder for the deadly shooting of rapper Nipsey Hussle in 2019. The jury deliberated for an hour on their second day together, and the verdict was read shortly after 10:30 p.m. . Holder was also convicted of attempted manslaughter and assault with a firearm to injure two more men. Now look at life in prison. Holder and Hussle were previously members of the Rollin ’60s Neighborhood Crips, and it was said that Holder shot Hussle during a casual encounter outside Hussle’s clothing store after Hussle accused him of taking him to law enforcement. Defense attorney Aaron Jansen admitted that Holder killed Hussle, but argued during the trial that the charges were too harsh because the crime was committed in the “heat of passion.” The prosecution argued that the murder was premeditated. Hussle had cleaned up his act later in life, becoming an advocate for armed violence and community development in his neighborhood.
