Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Rolando “Rolly” Romero entered the ring at the Barclays Center in New York on Saturday with undefeated records and dozens of knockouts between the two.
ESPN’s third-ranked men’s lightweight Davis sought to defend his “regular” AMB title, while Romero fought for a world title for the first time in his career.
Before the fight, Rolly did not shy away from expressing how he felt about Tank. Davis stated that this would be the last fight of his multi-year contract with Mayweather Promotions.
“Floyd did a great job with him,” Romero told ESPN. “Without Floyd, Gervonta Davis is nothing. Maybe she still has her skills and all that, you know. But when it comes to marketing, she has no personality.

“He’s doing nothing to help the sport of boxing,” he continued.
Tension between them was visible during their pre-fight press conference.
When they finally met in the ring on Saturday, they exchanged blows for six rounds in a round-robin match.
In the end, Davis was victorious by technical knockout.
