IRVINE, Calif. — Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey will begin training camp on the physically disabled list following offseason shoulder surgery.
Ramsey cannot practice while on the PUP list, but can be activated at any time. He is one of four players to be placed on the PUP list, along with linebacker Travin Howard, safety Quentin Lake and rookie running back Kyren Williams.

In a press conference Friday afternoon, manager Sean McVay said Ramey is “feeling good” after surgery and has been “attacking rehab the right way.”
“When we did the surgery, obviously the biggest thing was how he felt about it, but then with the goal in mind, OK, to attack the rehab the right way and most importantly to be ready to to Sept. 8. to go,” McVay said. “So we’ll be smart about that progress for him.”
Last month, Ramsey tweeted a photo of himself with what appears to be a sling over his left shoulder. A source told ESPN the surgery was “precautionary and minor.” During a March appearance on “The Pivot Podcast,” Ramsey said he played “half the year, probably 10 games, with two torn AC joints.”
McVay also said quarterback Matthew Stafford will be ready to throw when the team begins practice on Sunday. Stafford did not pitch during the spring after receiving an injection in his right elbow from an injury he suffered during the 2021 season. McVay said that while Stafford will be “ready to go,” he will be on a pitch count during the training camp.
“He’s been able to do a lot over the last few weeks, even since we’ve been out,” McVay said. “I think with a veteran player, anybody his size or just the amount of experience, you want to be smart about going after some pitch counts and different things like that.
“But he’ll be ready to go, but we’ll be smart about what that workload looks like within our four-day, three-day week increments.”
