Everton danced with the threat of relegation for nearly two decades, but here are five signings that would increase Frank Lampard’s team’s chances of a better 2022/23 campaign.
Jack Harrison of Leeds United and Conor Gallagher of Chelsea have been linked with Everton before this summer.
Everton narrowly escaped relegation from the Premier League in their penultimate game of the 2021/22 season with a spectacular victory over Crystal Palace.
A 3-2 victory for Frank Lampard’s team against the Palace at Goodison Park made the Toffees mathematically secure with a game in hand, avoiding what would have been a first relegation in more than 70 years for Everton.
In a disastrous season that saw Lampard replace Rafael Benítez, Lampard managed to keep Everton afloat, but will want to take the Blues much higher on the table next quarter. Here’s a look at the five players Everton have been linked with that would help them move up to the Premier League table next season.

Gavin Bazunu (Manchester City)
Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu might be a gamble, but as a Manchester City loan signing, he could offer a lot of competition for Jordan Pickford, with BBC Radio Solent joining Everton and Southampton with interest in the 20-year-old.
Bazunu spent last season on loan at League One at Portsmouth, but was highlighted by Danny Cowley’s side in a campaign where he established himself as Ireland’s top goalkeeper.
Confident with his feet, able to make a good pass and an excellent shooter, he was linked with Liverpool earlier this season and of all the Premier League goalkeepers with more than 20 appearances last season, only Ben Foster (Watford) and Tim Krul (Norwich City) had the worst WhoScored.com scores, suggesting Everton may need a goal improvement this summer.

James Tarkowski (Burnley)
Burnley center-back James Tarkowski will become a free agent after the Premier League’s Clarets relegation. The 29-year-old England international has played 194 times in England’s top six in the last six seasons.
Tarkowski has been linked with Everton, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Fulham, which shows that he has no shortage of suitors. Everton’s investment this summer, however, could lure the defender to Goodison Park, with a stay in the north perhaps more likely due to his roots in Manchester.
Everton’s defense was very leaked during the 2021/22 term, with only four teams conceding more than the 66 goals they scored during the Premier League season, and Tarkowski’s experience and knowledge would be great. active for the Lampard set.

Conor Gallagher (Chelsea)
Conor Gallagher had a stellar season on loan at Crystal Palace for Chelsea and Lampard’s connections with his former club could entice Gallagher to join the team led by Chelsea’s top scorer.
Gallagher scored eight goals last season and added three assists, with only Toffees striker Richarlison with a direct hand in more goals than him outside of Lampard’s squad this season.
Lampard has the ability to make use of his links with Chelsea, signing Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori on loan at Derby County and taking his Chelsea back-to-back staff with him to Everton, including his former teammate. Blues Ashley Cole.
The Daily Star reports that Everton are interested in the midfielder, and the ambitious move could help Lampard’s team make great strides.

Jack Harrison (Leeds United)
Leeds United winger Jack Harrison had a brilliant campaign with the Whites in a season in which they needed a final win at Brentford to seal security in the Premier League for the second season in a row.
Like Gallagher, Harrison scored eight goals last season, including one that kept Jesse Marsch’s team in the division.
From the sidelines, the departure of players like Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend was good, but it did not match Harrison’s levels and with him linked to a move and hopes for the future with England, a move to link with Lampard can further increase your productivity. , especially with forwards Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score.

Miguel Almiron (Newcastle United)
Newcastle United midfielder Miguel Almiron may be the game-changer Everton is looking for, with a number ten needed to get the best out of Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin in attack.
Given Newcastle’s rise to the table and increased purchasing power, Paraguayan Almiron may be considered in excess of the requirements and could make him available to the Toffees for a reduced fee after his informed interest.
There are only two years left in his contract, and while he has been a regular with Eddie Howe, that may change if the Magpies continue to make waves in the transfer market.
