Police now say the photos they released of two suspects who helped a BC inmate escape from a pretrial detention center are stock images from the Internet.
“Investigators can now confirm that the previously released images of Rabih Alkhalil’s associates are stock images that do not depict the same suspects,” said Const. Deanna Law.
“The suspects who helped Alkhalil escape are believed to look a lot like the photos they left, but these images are not them.”

Rabih Alkhalil escaped from the North Fraser Pretrial Center on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Police said two suspects helped Alkhalil escape by posing as contractors or hires. The three left in a white Econoline van and headed west on Kingsway Ave.

Crews said they believe they have located the getaway vehicle.

Alkhalil is still at large and police have said he is extremely dangerous.
He is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 2012 slaying of gangster Sandip Durhe at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center.
Police describe Alkhalil as a 35-year-old man, 5-foot-5, 166 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.
