Westbound Interstate 401 between Colborne and Cobourg was closed for several hours after a collision mid-afternoon Thursday.
According to Today’s Northumberland, an SUV is believed to have been a rear transport.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the transport was not injured.
Highway 401 West was reopened around 9 Thursday night.
