Félix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal has secured the sixth seed in the men’s competition, as four Canadians will compete in the main individual draws at Wimbledon.

The turf Grand Slam draws were announced on Friday, with Auger-Aliassime entering as the Canadian’s top seed.

Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill is 13th in the men’s draw, while Bianca Andreescu of Mississauga and Rebecca Marino of Vancouver will play in the women’s competition.

Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa and her partner Giuliana Olmos of Mexico are third seed in women’s doubles.

The draw did not include Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the best ranked, who was left out of the Wimbledon entrants list earlier this month. Laval’s world number 16, Que., Suffered a stress fracture in a quarterfinal defeat to Italy’s Martina Trevisan at the French Open.

Auger-Aliassime will face American Maxime Cressy in the first round. Auger-Aliassime reached the quarterfinals last year before being defeated by Matteo Berrettini in four sets (3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 3-6).

Auger-Aliassime, the world number 9, is 30-15 this season and won his first ATP title in Rotterdam in February.

Shapovalov will open against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech. The world number 16 reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last year before losing to then world number 1 Novak Djokovic.

Shapovalov will look to put an end to a difficult patch to enter the Grand Slam that has seen him lose the first game of his last five tournaments.

Andreescu, the 2019 U.S. Open champion, will open against American qualifier Emina Bektas.

Andreescu, 64th, has never made it past the first round at the All England Club, but has impressed on the pitch this season. He faces Caroline Garcia in Saturday’s Bad Homburg Open final.

Marino, number 107 in the world, will make his first appearance on the Wimbledon main board since 2011, where he reached the second round.

The tournament against the Polish Katarzyna Kawa (no. 132) will begin.

Dabrowski and Olmos are looking for a second title this season after winning in Madrid last month.
