If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy, today ‘s gameplay is for you. Today, Square Enix has revealed a little more information about Final Fantasy XVI.
In the new trailer, we have our first glimpse of the fight, which includes a high-speed real-time action that looks reminiscent of what Cloud and the gang do in Final Fantasy VII Remake. The trailer also features more of the mysterious Eikons, powerful monsters that resemble the summons of Final Fantasies of yesteryear and seem to reside in human controllers called Dominants. It seems that making friends or fighting these dominants will be the center of the game’s story.
Final Fantasy XVI was revealed in 2020 with a bloody trailer that did not look like anything that usually shows the bright and hopeful series. Beloved Naoki Yoshida is the game’s creative director, which makes fans of the series expect that this single-player game looks more like the acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV (which Yoshida also directs) and less to the disappointing but still brilliant Final Fantasy. XV. Yoshida promised that news about the game would arrive sometime in the spring of 2022 after the pandemic delayed its release schedule by six months. As part of that promise, Yoshida said Square Enix will open press interviews in the coming months in hopes of sharing even more information about Final Fantasy XVI.
Final Fantasy XVI is a PlayStation 5 exclusive and will be released in the summer of 2023.
