Adam Scott, the only Australian winner of The Masters, has just paid tribute to Cameron Smith after the Open.
“It’s been done for the big stage,” Scott tells Golf Channel. “He really is. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him win many important events throughout his career.
“I’m not sure what he does every day, but his short game, if we didn’t realize it before this year, is one of the best on the tour. Observing from where I am sitting, he is doing and saying all the right things and therefore has a career year. I’m excited about him. “
Scott (-10), himself, had a good week and finished tied for 15th place after a under-71 on the final day.
Now it’s Smith’s turn, Sam Pinfold, to talk to the station.
“This year has been the quantum leap,” Pinfold says. “He appears every week wanting to win, trying to win and not accepting anything less. He’s just worked hard. He only supports himself. He puts this piece between his teeth, gets angry and it is a pleasure for him. I’m very proud of him. “
