“Receiving a report from a child who is left on a closed bus for more than two hours is quite confrontational, even for our experienced researchers, as we have seen in other states, it can have tragic consequences,” Damien said. Acting Deputy Director of the Department of Communities. said Stewart.

“In this case, many mistakes were made, from the moment the bus returned to service from the trip.

“First, staff members did not check the bus and subsequently did not take the opportunity to identify that a child had disappeared.”

Stewart said the case was the eleventh time in the last six years that action had been taken on children being left on buses.
