Total rainfall is estimated to range between 15 and 25 mm, reaching 50 mm in some areas due to severe storms.
Damaging winds and an isolated tornado are possible Wednesday.
Water levels are expected to rise in flood control channels. Residents and visitors are asked to avoid these canals and all waterways.

The Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority is issuing a flood forecast statement for area residents regarding current watershed conditions. Flood forecasting and warning are part of the responsibilities of the Generalitat’s Conservation Authority. This statement is sent so that residents can be informed and aware.
Weather forecasts indicate moderate rain overnight into Wednesday. Total rainfall is expected to be between 15 and 25 mm. In some areas, rainfall may exceed 50 mm due to heavy storms. There is a chance for damaging winds and possibly an isolated tornado on Wednesday.
Local rivers, creeks and streams are currently flowing at normal levels. The predicted rainfall will cause water levels and flows to rise in the basin. Localized flooding may occur in low-lying areas with poor drainage.
Flood control channels owned and maintained by Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority is currently flowing at normal levels. Flood control channels will experience a rise in water levels. It is important to remember that water from rivers, streams and canals will flow rapidly during and after the rain event.
The Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority will continue to closely monitor stream flows through the watershed and updates will be provided as needed.
Residents and visitors are asked to stay away from flood control channels and all waterways. Flows can be particularly dangerous and stream banks can be slippery. Please keep children and pets away from waterways during this time.
