Charles Leclerc was the hero of his hometown of Monaco when he took pole position for the most legendary race in the world.
Born and raised in the principality, the Ferrari man made no mistake on his super-loaded trip to the top spot.
With 13 of the last 20 winners coming from the high position in which the 24-year-old will start the race on Sunday, he can finally break his Monte Carlo hood.

The story of the Monegasque on these narrow streets is a story of accidents, including once after marking the pole last year and, ridiculously, doing somersaults in Niki Lauda’s old Ferrari a fortnight ago.
This time it was another pilot who made the mistake, Sergio Pérez entering the wall of the tunnel entrance as the seconds passed.
Then Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz helped Pérez. A red flag was waved 30 seconds before the scheduled race.
The session ended there and then. Sainz was the second fastest and Pérez third.
Defending champion and championship leader Max Verstappen was only fourth best. The Dutchman has not had the necessary pace throughout the weekend so far.
Lewis Hamilton was eighth best for Mercedes, with teammate George Russell sixth. Ai.
Lando Norris placed an excellent fifth for McLaren despite battling tonsillitis.
