Forecasts Potential for severe thunderstorms overnight, morning, afternoon and evening (Sun, July 24, 2022)

Afternoon: We should see widespread thunderstorms in the afternoon across much of the region. There will be a mix of mild and severe storms and some of the strongest signals could be northwest, north and northeast of Lake Ontario. It could be quite messy with widespread showers in many places. All serious risks remain on the table during this period.

Evening: Some data suggests that the strongest storms of the day could arrive in the evening hours (6 to 9 p.m.) across southwestern Ontario and move east toward areas such as Hamilton and parts of the GTHA and Niagara.

Tornado Risk: We have only covered the orange (3) tornado risk areas on our map as this area has the best chance. However, an isolated tornado occurring in the yellow isolated severe risk areas (2) cannot be completely ruled out.
