Former AG Whitaker says Michael Sussmann’s acquittal “looks like a jury overturn”

Former Attorney General Matt Whitaker has joined “Fox & Friends” to address his concerns with a DC jury that found former Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI. Whitaker noted the partisan tendencies of the jury members.

MATT WHITAKER: 4% of Washington DC voted in favor of Donald Trump. Obviously this is going to be a pro-democracy, pro-Clinton jury. My biggest concern is that the foreman of the jury came out and really gave up what the jury was discussing, which is that they thought this case should never have been raised. And this is a bit worrying because it looks more like a jury overturn, where even though the evidence was overwhelming, even though they, the government, proved their case, the jury only decided that this it was not a worthwhile case. So this case, for me, was in fact and legally a slam dunk case. But, as I said before, leading to that jury verdictthis jury was going to be very difficult for Durham and his team to get a sentence.
