The weight of the 30-year-old cruiser, who fights under the name “The Punisher,” was mocked Sunday on social media for seeking refuge at Fawkner’s police station immediately after the shooting.
On Sunday, Abdulrahim sent a photograph of him from a hospital bed as he “flipped the bird” in an apparent act of defiance.
Images from a video posted on social media showing one of the masked criminals fleeing the crashed Mazda.
The image was titled: “Allah is greater than all these errors, they will get there (sic) day.”
He remains in stable condition at Royal Melbourne Hospital, after undergoing at least two surgeries to remove several bullets that damaged his lungs, liver and kidney.
Police have not made any arrests in connection with what they believe was a targeted attack on Abdulrahim.
Images from the dashboard camera show the time the Mazda CX-4 driven by the assailants entered traffic in the opposite direction on Box Forest Road shortly before noon on Saturday, overtaking the vehicle carrying Abdulrahim and salting it with bullets before to go at speed.
The criminals rushed out of the scene, but crashed the Mazda into a fire hydrant and a traffic light near the intersection with Sydney Road.
They abandoned the damaged Mazda and stole a car in Ford territory from a woman and her son at the nearby Ampol gas station and drove away at high speed, while Abdulrahim was driven to Fawkner’s police station.
“There were gunshots in the car theft, but … the mother and her son were not injured, but obviously [it was] a terrifying experience, ”acting superintendent Boris Buick said.
Ford’s territory was recaptured Saturday at 10 p.m. on Union Street, Epping, about 13 miles northwest of where it was originally stolen.
Since leaving the band of outlawed Mongolian motorcyclists earlier this year along with other renowned members Toby Mitchell and Mark Balsillie, Abdulrahim has been involved in multiple altercations with members of rival gangs.
Sources have told The Sunday Age that he was assaulted in recent months in Docklands, at a Melbourne cinema and at a Kensington boxing event.
In 2019, the Supreme Court was told that Abdulrahim had been the intended target of two shootings and another gun incident.
But on Saturday police said they “had no idea” who was behind the latest shooting.

The video captured at the gas station in front of Fawkner Cemetery shows one of the criminals, dressed in black and wearing a yellow mask, running from the car that crashed.
When asked if police knew the identities of the shooters, Buick said, “No idea who they are.”
