Four Gold Coast streets are closed when an emergency is declared

Queensland police have declared a four-street emergency on the Gold Coast.

At around 5pm on Wednesday, a statement from the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) was issued due to an ongoing situation in Nerang.

“The PSPA declared itself around 5 p.m. with an exclusion zone that includes Riverpark Drive, McLaren Road, Kowhai Place and Inverness Street,” Gold Coast police said.

“Citizens are advised to avoid the area and those inside the exclusion zone are asked to stay inside until further notice.”
