Fremantle ends the Melbourne Demons’ 17-game winning streak, stunned the AFL

The AFL has a new contender after former Melbourne Demons defender was stunned on his own territory in a boiling pot.

The Fremantle Dockers have achieved the biggest scalp in the AFL, securing a massive 38-point victory over the Melbourne Demons at the MCG.

The 14.10 (94) to 7.14 (56) victory officially ends with the epic 17-game Demons streak that includes the 2021 flag and firmly embeds the Dockers in the top four.

The Demons were in the eighth longest winning streak of all time with 17 games, but the Dockers fled for a famous victory.

On the other hand, the Dockers had lost their last two games against the Gold Coast Suns and Collingwood, Dockers coach Justin Longmuir was proud that his team had responded.

“I’m very proud of the players,” he said after the game. “Clearly, the last two weeks have been disappointing. It was about playing team football again.

“We wanted to have our best mark game of the year. I think we were a team that received an equal contribution from all the players, and I think we got it tonight.

“It was a fantastic effort. It’s a game, and I said it last week, if we move forward, we will have what we deserve. We want to make sure internally that we are as consistent as possible. We will enjoy this victory, but it will not happen. next week”.

It was an impressive performance after a first quarter with few goals and the Demons advancing by 25 points at the main break.

But the second half was exclusive to the Dockers, as a third quarter of eight goals was an impressive victory.

Great hawthorn Campbell Brown told AFL Nation, “This is the best quarter of the year for the Fremantle Dockers.”

Fox Footy commentator Anthony Hudson agreed: “It’s one of the biggest quarters in the club’s history.”

“They completely dominated the first few in force,” added Jason Dunstall.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“Instead of the composure that came out of Melbourne’s defense, it was a hacking stunt.”

Now some will frame it as the loss the Demons must have suffered if the side can recover, but it is a monumental victory for Fremantle.

Six years out of the final, the Dockers will now see themselves as true flag contenders after achieving what many believed would be an impossible feat in 2022.

And even better for the Dockers, Nat Fyfe is scheduled to return next week.

It was a great victory for Brayshaw, as Andrew finally defeated Angus, with the winning star saying, “I’m sure Mom has a scarf that’s half Melbourne, half Freo. So today she wore it. “This is the first time I’ve sold Angus. He’ll take me home tonight, so I’ll be sure to scrub him.”

The AFL community was stunned by the result.

Ian Blackley of Radio 6ix tweeted, “OMFG. I just activated the #AFLDeesFreo game. Great. Very good guys.”

Andrew McCormack of 7 News added: “Freo’s singing echoes around the MCG. His only game at home and away at the ‘G in 2022. Feel like they might be back sometime in September.”

Comedian Rove McManus wrote, “Dockers up front! WT real F ???”

West Coast star Will Schofield told his Chat back podcast: “I’ll tell you right now, the Fremantle Dockers will win Melbourne, they’ll end the streak.”

He tweeted: “I hope we were all paying attention on Thursday.”

However, while Freo fans loved life, Demons fans took a quick look at what it meant.

Age and Dees National Affairs editor James Massola wrote: “Narrm @melbournefc had to lose a game in the end. Let’s not lose our collective mind, Demons.”
