Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews took home three major awards at last night’s 2022 NHL Awards ceremony. Papi took home the Hart Memorial Trophy for his team’s most valuable player, the Ted Lindsay Trophy for Best Player, probably the most important, as the players voted, as well as leading the All-Team vote. Star with the most first-class votes for any position. . Almost forgotten, he won the Rocket Richard trophy with the most goals in a season after the first season of 60 goals in a decade.
Among spectators, teammates and numbers, Matthews is the best player in the world. Let that feeling submerge you. It feels great to know that he is doing all this for our team.
Each All-Star position is voted on individually, but repeating the previous fact that Matthews got more first-place votes than anyone. That was his break with McDavid.

Don’t forget, Scarborough guy Michael Bunting formed the All-Rookie team. Not the Calder, though.
