Another one bites the dust, and TBS is really starting to look like a barren wasteland with the cancellation of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee. The late-night political talk show appears to be the latest casualty of the ongoing layoffs from the Warner Bros. merger. Discovery earlier this year.
“As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult business-based decisions,” TBS said in a statement (via Variety ). “We are proud to have been the home of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee and thank Sam and the rest of the Emmy-nominated team for their groundbreaking work. We celebrate this extraordinarily talented cast and crew and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with with them in the future.”
The show released its own statement about the cancellation on its Twitter page, writing, “After 7 seasons, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee will not be returning to TBS this fall. We are so grateful for our loyal audience, our amazing team, and that we have to upset the right people every week, that there wasn’t wrestling or baseball or a very special episode of Big Bang.” The statement continued: “To our loyal fans, we love you, you are very special. Go home and come home in peace.”
In a follow-up tweet, he joked, “Full Frontal is leaving TBS to spend more time with his family.”
Shortly after the merger, TBS and TNT halted all development of new scripted programming. Since then, existing shows have been dropping like flies, including The Last OG and Chad (the latter was axed on the same day as its planned second season premiere). As such, Full Frontal’s impending doom seemed inevitable.

Sounds good. It has excellent sound clarity to make sure your bass rumbles in your stomach and your higher notes resonate through time thanks to the 40mm drivers, they have true adaptive noise cancellation to keep – you are completely immersed in what you are listening to, you have up to 50 hours of battery life, and it can even be used to make calls thanks to the four hidden microphones.
Still, it’s a tough loss for the evening, as Bee was one of the most prominent female voices in the genre, and at over 200 episodes, one of the longest running. From a political standpoint, she brought a unique and needed perspective, especially in her vocal support for reproductive justice. At a time when these private rights are more at risk than ever, it’s disappointing that Full Frontal is no longer part of the conversation.
