Games Entertainment Themes IGN IGN Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer – First Impressions

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer seems to be reviving the basic composition of Call of Duty games. Modern Warfare 2 recovers the best parts of the 2019 remake and adds more. Here are my impressions of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer from my preview in Infinity Ward (you can also read my first impressions of the single player campaign).

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer looks as good as the 2019 remake. This recovers all the basic basics that were great about 2019 and makes them better from this iteration. Gunsmith has been slightly redesigned to be more based on modern military elements, so players can now unlock “Platforms” that progress in the evolution of a weapon. Thus, for example, the M4 platform could lead to unlocking the M16 or .45 SOCOM. Actually, platforms are a “family” of weapons that fall into different categories, such as assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, and so on.

As with the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, multiplayer will include new and updated physics and water technology on the new maps. There are hybrid vehicles that will run on land and water and you can swim in the water through the maps. You can use pistols and knives underwater, but if you make a gun, the speed of the projectile at the bullets will be slower, so there will be less impact, which means more bullets will be needed to kill someone when fired from Water.

In addition, along with previous equipment at your facility, there is new equipment that will also adapt to the new water mechanics. For example, when deployed in the water, the proximity mine will inflate a small flotation device so that it floats to the surface and works that way. Similarly, there is a new team called Inflatable Decoy that basically works like a Metal Gear Solid V dummy where the enemy appears and distracts. When this inflatable sprain is thrown into the water, it will adopt a swimming stance with the weapon out to adapt to its aquatic environment.

Players can now unlock “Platforms” that progress in the evolution of a gun.

Additional new equipment includes a tactical camera that you can throw at a wall or ceiling and it will warn you of passing enemies and you can even enter the camera to operate it and look for enemies. A new Drill Charge works like the Maggie skill of Apex Legends or the Rainbow Six Siege’s Fuse skill where you throw a drill outside a wall and drill and throw a grenade into that room and that too use in vehicles. . There is also a new DDOS computer that will let you know where vehicles and equipment are nearby and release an EMP charge to stop devices.

There are some basic game modes to try out this new equipment, but two new game modes for Modern Warfare 2 are also added: Knockout and Prisoner Rescue. Knockout is basically a basic combined shooter and multiplayer game where it’s a round based mode. You can revive your teammates, but if your team is eliminated, the round ends with your loss. The goal is to kill the enemy team or go to a place of generation where a bag will fall and hold it until the timer runs out and if you survive, you win. Prisoner Rescue is basically Call of Duty and Rainbow Six Siege, where it is a rape and a clear goal to rescue prisoners or prevent them from being taken to the opposite side. You can also revive your teammates in this mode, but again, if your team is completely eliminated, you lose this round.

There are larger lobby game modes that will include up to 64 players, but they also have the basic game modes with 6v6 lobbies. The new maps look clean and fantastic, and as the campaign revolves around the world, the surroundings and locations are varied and unique. The ping system is being moved and adjusted to have more options in calls and communication. Sliding mechanics are also moving, but with an additional movement mechanics, diving, where you can double-tap slide / bend and literally dive to the ground in a sort of last-resort movement to protect yourself. you.

Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28th and a beta version will be released before the release date if you place a pre-order. Of course, Warzone will reflect the changes shown by the multiplayer some time after the release, but no date has been set yet. But what has been confirmed is that Warzone will arrive on mobile, and more details will be announced later. The multiplayer looks great and I’m really excited to spend some time in beta when it comes out because Modern Warfare in 2019 was a fantastic twist on the original iteration.
