The average price of gas in the Greater Toronto Area and most of southern Ontario is expected to hit a new high this weekend.
According to Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, a two-cent rise in gasoline is expected to rise to 212.9 cents per liter on Friday.
On Saturday, three cents more will be added to the price of a liter of petrol, which will put it at 215.9 cents.
It will break the current record of 214.9 cents per liter that was reached just last weekend.
McTeague previously told CP24 that pump prices could reach 225 cents per liter sometime this summer.
As the travel season arrives, many fear that demand this summer will put more constraints on an already tight global supply that has been exacerbated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Pain in the bombs is also felt south of the border and across the pond. In the United States, the average price of gasoline is close to $ 5 a gallon, while in the United Kingdom, gasoline prices reached a record 182.3 cents per liter.
