The undisputed lightweight world championship is at stake.
The first undisputed champion in four lightweight belts will be crowned on Saturday at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, when FIB, AMB (super) and OMB holder and hometown favorite George Kambosos Jr. meet CMB holder Devin Haney.
Kambosos shocked the world two days after U.S. Thanksgiving when he fell and defeated Teofimo Lopez by split decision to win three-quarters of the 135-pound belts.
Haney travels to Australia, having defended the WBC title four times in a row. In 2021, Haney had perhaps his best performances to date in dominant victories over Jorge Linares and Jo Jo Diaz, respectively.
