Gervonta Davis Vs. Rolly Romero live updates, results, highlights

Davis-Romero; Round 5

Davis barely misses a left while Romero nearly misses a right. A blow from Romero while Davis counterattacks with a stiff left. Right to Romero’s body. Davis grimaces after a left-footed shot. A right lands for Romero. The body shot lands on Davis. Romero breaks his own right. (10-9 Davis, 48-47 Romero)

Davis-Romero; Round 4

Again, not much is going on, as each guy is looking for the right prey. A left wing lands for Davis. Romero misses a right and Davis misses a left. Round difficult to score. (10-9 Davis, 39-37 Romero)

Davis-Romero; Round 3

Every guy is feeling up to start third. Romero is setting everything up with the jab. A top left corner lands for Romero. Rosemary with jab. Romero attacks with a left foot in the body, and Davis counterattacks with a straight left. Romero is playing with the jab while Davis continues to look for an opening. (10-9 Romero, 30-27 Romero)

Davis-Romero; Round 2

It is still very much the same at the beginning of the second. Out of nowhere, Romero lands a left that shakes Davis on the ropes. Another left catches Davis’ eye as he has some problems. About 30 seconds from the end of the round, Davis lands directly to the left. Good round for Romero. (10-9 Romero, 20-18 Romero)

Davis-Romero; Round 1

Not much happens in this round. Many times by Davis trying to avoid Romero’s right hand. Romero nails Davis even without doing much. Easy to score round. (10-9 Romero)

Tank against Romero

It’s time for the main event as Gervonta Davis (26-0, 24 KOs) fights Rolly Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) for the Davis AMB lightweight (regular) title. Talk time is over. Can Romero finish Davis in the first round as predicted?

Erislandy Lara stops O’Sullivan in eight

Lara def. O’Sullivan by technical knockout in the eighth round.

After nearly sending O’Sullivan for the second time in the seventh, Lara closed the show in the early eighth. A power line on the left almost dropped O’Sullivan as he staggered toward the ropes. He landed with a left hand and the referee put an end to the attack.

Where has this Lara been?

Lara costa

After dropping O’Sullivan in the fourth, it was all Lara in the middle. Can Lara leave him out?

Main co-event

It’s time for Davis ’co-main event against Romero when Erislandy Lara (28-3-3, 16 KOs) and Gary“ Spike ”O’Sullivan (31-4, 21 KOs) face off in the AMB of Lara (regular) middleweight title. Make no mistake, Gennadiy Golovkin is the (super) 160-pound AMB champion. Nothing more than a paper title that Lara defends,

Jesus Ramos remains undefeated

Ramos def. Santamaria by unanimous decision (98-92, 97-93, 97-93).

In what was a tight fight after five, Ramos went ahead in the second half and found a home when he landed with his left at will. Give credit to Santamaria. It hung tight when most would have withered.

He did the job, and that’s what matters, as Ramos leads his record to 19-0.

Narrow fight

He did not expect this to be close, as he thought that Ramos would be far ahead. But Santamaria is looking forward to it, not backing down and maintaining competitiveness.

Rolly clings to his weapons

Average overweight

Next to Davis Vs. Romero is Luke Santamaria (13-2-1, 7 KOs) facing Jesus Ramos (18-0, 15 KOs) in superwelterweight action. Santamaria defeated Ramos’ uncle in his last time. Can Jesus defend the surname?

Eduardo Ramirez wins the close fight

Ramirez defeated. Melendez by majority decision (95-95, 96-94, 98-92).

I’m not too sure about 98-92 for Ramirez. Meléndez had won most of the first half of the fight. But Ramirez started in the fifth round and did not look back. He was more active, hitting his body and shaking Melendez eventually finishing in the tenth and final round.

Fun fight. A great way to start the holidays.

Tank wants to shut up Rolly

The underdog has arrived

Fun fight through five

An action fight between Ramírez and Meléndez halfway. Ramirez begins to take control in the last two rounds hitting his body. Those shots are starting to take their toll on Melendez.

The tank is in the building

Main letter opener

Davis Vs. Romero open has Eduardo Ramirez (26-2-3, one no competition, 12 KOs) facing Luis Meléndez (17-1, 13 KOs) in super featherweight action.
