They say good things come to those who wait and after months of speculation, our anguish is finally over. We now know that God Of War Ragnarök will be released on November 9, 2022, so you can all stop brandishing your Spartan Rage every time the game doesn’t show up in a shop window.
Santa Monica Studio not only left the release date, but we also received a new movie trailer showing Kratos and Atreus face to face with a giant wolf. From what we know about Norse mythology, it appears to be Fenrir. Since then a fan theory has emerged that suggests that history could take us back to where it all began: Greece.
Check out the new God Of War Ragnarök trailer below to see Kratos and Atreus in action.
One thing we know about God Of War Ragnarök is that Tyr will have a much greater presence. In short, Tyr is the Norse god of war and someone whom Odin considers a threat. Prior to the events of the 2018 God of War, Tyr was imprisoned by Odin and many assumed he was dead.
God Of War Ragnarök will see Kratos and the company try to locate Tyr in hopes of asking him to join them in their fight. This is where Greece comes into play. The youtuber Kaptain Kuba points out a moment of God of War in the temple of Tyr. It was revealed that Tyr traveled to other lands to learn about his ways and a tapestry shows the journey of the Norse god to Greece, where he gave a mysterious object to his people.
Kaptain Kuba’s theory is that anything Tyr gives to the Greeks could be the key to stopping Ragnarök and the subsequent destruction of the world. It is certainly within the realm of possibilities. We still have some important gaps to fill in Kratos ’timeline, so maybe a trip back home is just what it takes. Either way, we’ll just have to wait a few more months to find out.
