Gold Coast star AJ Brimson lamented his team’s “poor” performance when the Titans’ season sank to a new low at Cbus Super Stadium.
Playing against an unmanned North Queensland team that was missing four home State representatives, the Titans crawled into the second half to lose 32-6 at home.
They had an excess of attacking ball in the early stages of the game, and struggled with a 16-6 at halftime, but were no rivals for the Cowboys in the second stanza.

Speaking to Nine after the game, Brimson was clearly lively with the performance.

“It’s weak. I think it’s pretty obvious we can’t play for 80 minutes,” Brimson told Johnathan Thurston.
“It simply came to our notice then that we were weak at the moment, and we have been weak lately.
“It’s not good enough. It’s quite embarrassing, to be honest.”

Gold Coast now ranks 15th on the ladder with just three wins in 13 games, although in 2022 it has become a big improvement.
Coach Justin Holbrook made an exception with the suggestion that he was ready to put a line through this season.
“We know we’re miles away. But we’re still working on it and (hopefully) chaining some victories together,” Holbrook said.

To make matters worse for the Titans, right-back Jayden Campbell injured his hamstrings during the loss.
League legend Andrew Johns fears for the Gold Coast season with Campbell out.
“They’re being shot now. He’s the only one provoking them,” Johns told Nine.
“Right now they’re just stepping on water, really fighting for creativity in attack. He’s the only one providing a spark.

“They scored an attempt tonight in the 16th minute and it didn’t look like they would score again … it will be a difficult period with Campbell not there.”
The Titans will face the Rabbitoh next Saturday.
