The actor was engaged to Jacy Nittolo at the time of his death.

Liotta caught the attention of Hollywood in the 1986 film “Something Wild,” starring the violent ex-husband of the star Melanie Griffith, a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination. He appeared as Shoeless Joe Jackson in the 1989 baseball-themed classic “Field of Dreams,” alongside Kevin Costner, in which he uttered the memorable and often-quoted phrase, “Hey, newbie! You were good! “

But Liotta’s prominent role came in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 film “Goodfellas,” as part of a starring cast that included Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Lorraine Bracco. Based in part on the life of the former mobster turned government informant Henry Hill, whom Liotta played, he became an almost instant classic and launched Liotta to stardom.

Liotta recently appeared in films such as “Marriage Story” and the spin-off “Sopranos” “The Many Saints of Newark”.

She also starred in television shows such as “Shades of Blue,” starring Jennifer Lopez, “Hanna,” and “Black Bird.”
