Update: In a curious twist on events, Google has updated the release notes page for Beta 3, but now says that the factory and OTA images will be “available soon”. (Beta 2.1 builds have been removed.) The company does not yet offer a build number today, but major fixes should include:
- Fixed an issue where unlocking the phone with a fingerprint while Always On Display was active sometimes caused the entire screen to turn green temporarily.
- Fixed an issue with Pixel devices where swiping your finger on the search results page of all applications sometimes caused the Pixel Launcher to crash.
This is the time to start the final testing and development work needed to ensure that a compatible version of your application is ready for users in the final version of the ecosystem. Android 13 will provide a standard API level right now.
With the Level 33 API SDK and now-definitive NDK APIs, Google recommends that developers “begin final compatibility testing for apps, SDKs, and libraries,” as well as release alpha and beta tracks from the Play Store. .
Key changes to Android 13’s behavior include new notification permissions and a corner clipboard preview, with Google telling developers to make sure apps hide sensitive data, such as passwords and payment information. . Other changes that applications should try include richer media controls, as well as new permissions that cover access to media files, body sensors, and Wi-Fi.

Android 13 Beta 3 system images are available for Pixel 4 (XL), Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro, as well as the Android emulator.
